June 7, 2024 — During the week of 20-24 May, VRA, Fort Knox hosted the inaugural Public Health Command, East non-commissioned officer (NCO) induction ceremony. NCO induction ceremonies are one of many forms to maintain and promote Army Traditions. 37 Soldiers from across the brigade (BDE) marched through the NCO Corps arch in a symbolic gesture, representative of assuming their role as a Non-Commissioned Officer. Comprehensive Noise Study: Military Working Dog (MWD) and Army MWD Behaviorist
October 3, 2023 — A PHC, East Industrial Hygienist and Army Military Working Dog (MWD) Behaviorist work together to perform a comprehensive noise study on both human MWD handlers and the MWDs themselves. The intent of the study was to correlate noise exposures both inside and outside of the kennel with behaviors the animals demonstrate, as well as to verify any potential hearing threshold shifts in the MWDs.
