LIEUTENANT COLONEL SHAUN J. OLAUGHLIN
Commander, Veterinary Readiness Activity, Fort Eisenhower

 
Lieutenant Colonel OLaughlin was born in Colorado. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Northern Colorado and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Baylor University. He is board-certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and has been awarded the Additional Skills Identifier (7Y) Capabilities Developer.
 
Lieutenant Colonel OLaughlin entered the Army in 2005 as a direct commission after being accepted into the U.S. Army-Baylor Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy. Following the didactic phase of his program he completed his internship at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.

Lieutenant Colonel OLaughlin has one operational deployment to Iraq (2010-2011) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.
 
His military education includes AMEDD Officers Basic Course, JBSA, TX; AMEDD Captain’s Career Course, JBSA, TX; and Command and General Staff Officers Course, Fort Belvoir, VA.
 
Lieutenant Colonel OLaughlin’s military awards, decorations, and honors include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (1OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2OLC), the Army Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Army Superior Unit Award. Foreign awards include the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold). Lieutenant Colonel OLaughlin is the recipient of the 2014 Army Medical Specialist Corps Award of Excellence, the Army Surgeon General’s “A” Proficiency Designator, and is a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit.   
 
Lieutenant Colonel OLaughlin and his wife (Rosie) have been married for 18 years and have two children, Shaun (15) and Carson (14).
