CSM FRANCIS VALDEZ FAMULARCANO
Command Sergeant Major, Public Health Command, East

 
CSM Francis V. Famularcano enlisted into the United States Army in July 1997. He attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, SC., and trained as an Automated Logistical Specialist (92A) at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA. He later reclassified as Respiratory Specialist (68V) at Fort Sam Houston, TX.

CSM Famularcano has held every leadership position from Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Department NCOIC, First Sergeant, and as Sergeant Major/ Senior Enlisted Advisor. CSM Famularcano’s assignments include: 407th Forward Support Battalion (AIRBORNE), 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC; Headquarters Maintenance Support Company 528th Special Operations Support Battalion (AIRBORNE), Fort Bragg, NC; Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, TX; Clinic NCOIC at Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center, Fort Meade, MD; Senior Drill Sergeant at Alpha Company 1-46th Infantry, Fort Knox, KY; Department NCOIC at Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Benning, GA; First Sergeant at Bravo Company 47th Combat Support Hospital, Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA; First Sergeant Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) 725th Brigade Support Battalion (AIRBORNE), 4th Brigade-25th Infantry Division, Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, AK; Sergeant Major and Senior Enlisted Advisor at the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Center- Europe (USAMMCE), Kaiserslautern Army Depot, Germany, and as Directorate Sergeant Major of AMEDD Personnel Proponent Directorate at Medical Center of Excellence, Fort Sam Houston, TX.

CSM Famularcano has participated in two deployments and humanitarian operation to include: support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I and one tour in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom XI as well as Operation Allied Refuge (OAR) and Operation Allied Welcome (OAW). He has accomplished all essential levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System to include Sergeants Major Academy Class 69. CSM Famularcano is a graduate of the Automated Logistics Specialist Course, Airborne School, Standard Army Supply System Course, USASOC Jumpmaster Course, Respiratory Specialist Course, Drill Sergeant School, Instructor Course, Army Combatives, Air Assault School, Battle Staff Course, and Master Resilience Training (MRT) Course. His civilian education includes an Associate degree in Respiratory Care from Thomas Edison State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College.

His awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with ten oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with seven oak leaf clusters and several other decorations. He has also been awarded the Expert Field Medical Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Drill Sergeant Badge, Drivers Badge, German Parachutist Badge, German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge in Gold. CSM Famularcano is also a recipient of the U.S. Army Medical Department’s Order of Military Medical Merit, a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Association.

He is married to his wife Regina of 23 years, and they have two children: Jacob, age 22; Elena, age 18.
